Rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha is likely to join the Congress party on Thursday at New Delhi. While Bollywood actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has been associated with the Saffron Party for about three decades now, he is likely to jump the ship in the light of his critical statements against the ruling government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Current BJP MP from Patna Sahib Sinha on Thursday afternoon visited Congress president Rahul Gandhi's residence in New Delhi ahead of his official induction into the Grand Old Party. Interacting with the reporters at Gandhi's residence, Sinha assured that things are going smooth between the Congress leadership and him. Furthermore, manifesting confidence, Shatrughan Sinha hinted that he will be contesting the election from Bihar's Patna Sahib constituency from Congress ticket.

"Things are under control now. I have said it multiple times, whatever the situation be the contest will be from that seat (Patna Sahib) only. There is no reason for the delay - no problems. Everything is smooth," Sinha said speaking to reporters.

If nominated to contest from Patna Sahib constituency, Shatrughan Sinha will be taking on Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who only recently replaced him on the seat from BJP.

As per reports, Sinha was going to be inducted into the party on March 28. However, his entry into the Grand Old Party got delayed after a tiff broke between the Congress party and its allies over seat-sharing alliance in the state of Bihar.

"Shatrughan Sinha will join Congress in New Delhi on March 28 at 11.30 am ... He will be our candidate from Patna Sahib", chairman for the state Congress election campaign committee Akhilesh Prasad Singh had told PTI.

Asked whether Sinha would be induced in the party in the presence of AICC president Rahul Gandhi, as was being speculated in the media, Singh said Top leaders will be present on the occasion".
