Actor-turned-politician and BJP candidate Jaya Prada on Monday gave her first statement reacting to lewd comments made by SP leader Azam Khan during a public rally on Sunday.

Speaking to media, Jaya Prada launched a scathing attack on the SP leader, saying that this is not the first time that Azam Khan had insulted her. Adding that she will not succumb to his comments, she demanded the Election Commission to cancel his nomination for the ensuing elections.

"This is not new for me. He made such statements before in 2009 as well. Azam Khan is used to making such comments. Akhilesh Yadav never backed me when he used to say such words against me. Azam Khan's level of politics has narrowed down that such a level, that we will not change. I cannot even repeat the words he had used this time against me. He has crossed all limits. I have lost patience. He is not a brother for me anymore. An FIR has been filed against him. People will not spare him now. His election nomination should be canceled. If he wins the elections, it will be very bad for the women of the society. Women will not feel protected. I will not get scared and leave from Rampur. I am not going anywhere. I will fight the election and will make you loose Azam Khan," said Jaya Prada in a blistering attack at the Samajwadi Party leader.

On being questioned on the presence of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on the stage while Azam Khan was making such comments, the BJP leader said:

"I used to consider Akhilesh as my younger brother, but he did not anything when Azam Khan used to insult me."
