Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections

WATCH: 'Congress Is Like Siberian Birds, Maybe Priyanka Vadra Is Coming To Find Something Babur-related', Says UP Minister Mohsin Raza

Uttar Pradesh minister Mohsin Raza has equated Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other Congress leaders' pre-poll travels to that of Siberian cranes, ahead of Vadra's visit to Ayodhya on March 27.

Speaking to reporters, Raza claimed that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was heading to Ayodhya because 'she was remembering Babur', the Mughal Emperor who is said to have ordered the construction of the Babri Masjid and for whom it is named.

He referenced Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's grandfather Feroze Gandhi and said, "Feroze Jehangir's grandaughter is going to Ayodhya. Why is she going there? Ayodhya is the janambhoomi of Shri Ram. And those questioning this are going to Ayodhya."

He spoke about how Congress leaders hadn't gone to the Kumbh mela in Prayagraj and other relevant events, and added, "Now they want to go there (to Ayodhya). Maybe they're remembering Babur and are trying to find things related to him. These are Siberian cranes, they come and go depending on the weather."

Accusing the Congress of being similar to the birds, well know for their annual transcontinental migrations, Raza added:

"Congress is also like this. I think that nothing will happen with this dramebaazi. If they travel in trains or boats, they'll see Modiji's development work but they're coming to celebrate a picnic, nothing else."

Days before Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's visit to Ayodhya, posters declaring her a 'Ram Bhakt' have appeared at the holy city, similar to how Congress president Rahul Gandhi has been dubbed a Shiv Bhakt since the time of the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections.
