Minutes after filing the nomination papers at the Rifle Club in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media gathering outside the Collectorate office on Friday.

Addressing the media, Prime Minister expresses gratitude towards the people of Varanasi who participated in his mega roadshow and showed their support to him. Furthermore, he urged the votes to exercise their franchise and help form a strong government.

"After five years, I pay my gratitude to the people of Kashi. After five years, once again the people of Kashi have blessed me with their love. Only Kashi people can do a roadshow for 4-5 hours. Three phases are done, 4 remain. I urge all the voters of the country to exercise their democratic right in an atmosphere of peace and harmony, and help in forming a strong government," PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, PM Modi filed his nomination for Varanasi at the Rifle Club.

While taking the oath that is to be made by a candidate for election to Parliament, PM said: 

"I, Narendra Damodardas Modi, having been nominated as a candidate to fill a seat in the council of States (or the House of the People) do swear in the name of God/solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established and that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India."

A day before filing the nomination, PM Modi held a 7-km mega roadshow in Varanasi along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister JP Nadda, UP and Delhi BJP chiefs, Mahendra Nath Pandey and Manoj Tiwari.
