Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to file his nomination for Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Ahead of addressing his nomination, PM Modi addressed a rally of BJP workers in the holy city.
Addressing the rally, Prime Minister declared that in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the country will witness 'pro-incumbency wave' for the time in the history after the independence.
"This is hard work of the karyakartas throughout the country that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Kashi ghat to Porbandar, there's a spirit of celebration across the entire nation. After the elections, political pundits will have to scratch their heads thinking that even after so many elections post-independence, the country will be witnessing 'pro-incumbency wave' for the first time. The people have made their minds. This is the first time in history, that such an election is being fought in the country. People are showering so much love upon us, that we must show gratitude to them," PM Modi said addressing the BJP workers.
On Thursday, PM Modi held a 7-km mega roadshow in Varanasi following which he performed the Ganga Aarti at the ghat on the banks of the river Ganga. Emphasizing his pleasure about the support that people showed during the roadshow, PM Modi addressed to the BJP worker on Friday and said:
"People have made up their mind. It is first time in history that this type of election is being fought. There is a pro-incumbency wave. We are grateful for this extreme love citizens have showered upon us. This was the an amalgamation of BJP workers' hard-work and people's love. Yesterday's turnout was heaven-sent for me."
Senior NDA leaders, including Janata Dal (United) president and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Shiromani Akali Dal's Parkash Singh Badal and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan are present in Varanasi for PM Modi's nomination filing. Leaders of AIADMK, Apna Dal and North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) will also be present during the nomination.
