Union Minister Smriti Irani, on Friday, gave a befitting reply to the Congress party over their personal attack on her statement of her educational qualifications in the nomination affidavit that she filed in Amethi on Thursday.

Speaking to Republic TV, Smriti Irani responded to Congress' personal jibe, saying that she will not be afraid of the comments made by the leaders of the grand old party and will defeat Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha polls.

"It is okay. It is their right. You keep subsidiaries for that purpose only. I believe that the more they will insult me, the more power I get to deliver a better fight. Let them attack me personally," the Union Minister said speaking in the matter.

On being questioned about Rahul Gandhi's contribution towards the development of Amethi Lok Sabha constituency, Smriti Irani gave a fitting reply on behalf of the people of Amethi.

"If he will talk about Amethi, then every child will shout only one thing that the parliamentarian is missing," she added.

Earlier speaking on Congress' personal comments, she said:

"There is no such abusive language, there is no conspiracy, there is no such rude behaviour that is left which the Congress workers have not used against me. I would like to tell them only one thing that this woman has the power to challenge the Naamdaar (Rahul Gandhi) and make him lose this election. It has just started. Naamdaar has reached to the second seat. His defeat is sure from this seat on May 13. How much the Congress leaders want to say against me, they can. They can do all they want. They have full freedom. They have been targeting me for a long time. They only have one problem that I have challenged Naamdaar in Amethi."

Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on Friday morning addressed a press briefing wherein she had questioned the educational qualification of BJP leader Smriti Irani, which she stated in the nomination papers filed for Amethi polls on Thursday.

"A new serial is about to come up which is titled Kyunki Mantri Bhi Kabhi Graduate Thi," Priyanka Chaturvedi said referencing to Smriti Irani's former television series 'Kyunki Saan Bhi Kabhi Bahun Thi'.

In her affidavit, Smriti Irani stated that she did not complete her graduation from Delhi University. She said she passed secondary school examination in 1991 and senior secondary school examination in 1993.
