BJP workers from Uttar Pradesh clashed amongst themselves in Sant Kabir Nagar on Saturday. The incident happened during the progamme of the UP BJP chief's Mahendra Nath Pandey's programme.
The workers belonged to the camps of BJP MLA Rakesh Singh Baghel and BJP MP MP Rakesh Tripathi who had fought earlier.
Their supporters pushed each other, threw chairs at each other. The visuals show how the workers had clashed. The chairs in the venue of the programme are seen fallen, the workers are seen grouping and arguing and also sloganeering.
Tripathi and Baghel had in March engaged in a shameful brawl and hit each other with fists and shoes at an official meeting. During a meeting for a project in Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabir Nagar, MP Tripathi and MLA Baghel exchanged blows after an argument broke out over the placement of names on a foundation stone of a project.
The incident took place during a meeting of the District Action Plan Committee at the Collectorate in front of a number of other party members who were attending the meeting. The scuffle broke out after BJP MP Sharad Tripathi asked why his name was not mentioned on the foundation stone. BJP MLA Rakesh Baghel revealed that it was his decision.
The visuals show BJP leader Sharad Tripathi attacking his colleague Rakesh Singh with a shoe during a public meeting after a heated war of words. The argument turned ugly as the two leaders got into jostling, pushing each other and ultimately fisticuff. Sharad Tripathi hit Rakesh Baghel with his shoe to which he retaliated by slapping the MP.
Even as the police present during the meeting tried to control the situation, the lawmakers kept on fighting.
