After missing the Asansol clashes due to a 'late bed tea', Trinamool Asansol candidate Moon Moon Sen says 'little violence happens everywhere'

Reacting to her earlier comment of 'missing all the violence in Bengal on Monday, as she had a very late bed tea', Trinamool candidate for Asansol Constituency and actress-turned-politician Moon Moon Sen, on Monday evening has said that 'little violence' happens everywhere, and that it was much less compared to before.

Reacting to her earlier comment of 'missing all the violence in Bengal on Monday, as she had a very late bed tea', Trinamool candidate for Asansol Constituency and actress-turned-politician Moon Moon Sen, on Monday evening has said that 'little violence' happens everywhere, and that it was much less compared to before.

Earlier in the day, on being asked about the violence rampant in her own constituency- Asansol on polling day, Sen had reportedly said that she had not heard about the clashes as she woke up late due to delay in the arrival of her bed tea.

When asked about these recent clashes occurring in West Bengal in all phases of the Lok Sabha polls, Sen had reportedly said that the situation was worse when the Communist party had ruled the state and such clashes were prevalent all over the country.

On Monday morning, a huge clash broke out between TMC (Trinamool Congress) workers and QRF and security personnel outside polling booth number 125-129 in Asansol after disagreement erupted between BJP & CPI(M) workers after TMC workers insisted on polling despite the absence of central forces, news agency ANI reported.

Following this clash, Union Minister and BJP leader, Babul Supriyo who is Sen's contender for the Asansol seat was also a victim to vandalism when his car was vandalised outside a polling booth in the region. 

Speaking to Republic TV in the aftermath of the attack, BJP Parliamentarian Babul Supriyo said:

"My car has been broken. The polling agent was seen with folded hands. There were goons and gundas outside the polling booth. I knew wherever I will go I will be attacked. I am the one who got everyone out," Babul Supriyo said.

Republic TV reporter too bore the brunt of the violence in Asansol when TMC goons attacked the Republic TV crew and its car.

The visual show the windshield of the car smashed to pieces. Republic reporter Shantashree narrates the horrific incident, saying that the car was kicked by the TMC goons as well. The goons are roaming across the sector with lathis and sticks with which they attacked the Republic crew which was in Asansol for the news report.

In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections, nine states are going to the polls today with 72 seats up for the grabs. In West Bengal, eight constituencies are witnessing polling including, Baharampur, Krishnagar, Ranaghat (SC), Burdwan East (SC), Burdwan-Durgapur, Asansol, Bolpur (SC) and Birbhum.
