The BJP had said that it has chosen the ground owing to its public significance. The BJP leaders claimed that there the rally will signal an end of AAP and Congress in Delhi. They claimed it would be an unprecedented rally where about 2.5 lakh people are expected. The party hired buses to ferry supporters to Delhi. Visuals also depicted the large number of crowd in the venue for the rally.

The Varanasi roadshow held by PM Narendra Modi on April 25 also saw a massive crowd. The turnout of supporters was big enough to raise questions whether the 2019 Lok Sabha elections is seeing a Modi wave.
