National Approval Ratings: Mamata's TMC projected to win big leaving NDA, UPA and Left far behind in West Bengal

With the Lok Sabha elections to start in less than three days, Republic TV and C Voter bring you the National Approval Ratings. The survey gives a complete picture of who will win the polls in West Bengal.

One of the biggest states which will impact the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will be West Bengal. In 2014, the ruling party in the state, Mamata Banerjee's TMC won 34 seats, and despite the massive claims by BJP that they would win a minimum of 23 seats, the situation is projected to remain the same.

The numbers for April show that compared to March, TMC is likely to get one seat more bringing the total to 35 seats and NDA will see its number come down by two seats as it is projected to get six seats. This month also shows that UPA might win one seat. The CPM has throughout the survey from the last two months has not been projected to win a single seat.

Here are the numbers for March:

TMC is projected keep its 34 seats intact, and in fact, increase its vote share from 2014 (39.8 to 41.0%). BJP is projected to win only eight seats with a vote share of 35%, a massive rise in comparison to 2014. However, the Congress-led UPA is projected to lose enormously with not even a single seat win, while a vote share of less than 10% is predicted.

January predictions: TMC was projected to win 34 seats, while NDA managed to grab only 7 seats, leaving the last seat the Congress-led UPA in the state. 

December predictions: TMC was projected to win 32 seats, while NDA managed to grab only 9 seats, leaving the last seat the Congress-led UPA in the state. 

The Election Commission (EC) in March announced the polling dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with vote-counting scheduled to be held on May 23. The General elections will be held for 543 Lok Sabha seats on nearly 10 lakh polling booths across the country which higher compared to 9 lakh in 2014, with 84 million more voters will be casting their vote this time, announced the CEC Sunil Arora.

The results of 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may not reflect the results or scenarios of the state assembly elections, nevertheless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented the National Approval Ratings.
