Hitting back at PM Modi's claims that '40 Trinamool MLAs were in touch with him', West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday, has dared PM Modi to even find one such MLA in the Trinamool Congress Party, while addressing a rally in Bhadreshwar, West Bengal.
"I am saying at least find one (MLA). My party does not steal like yours," she said.
Accusing PM Modi of horse trading, she called for his nomination to be scrapped claiming that the Prime Minister's claims were illegal and unconstitutional.
"Aren't you ashamed? You claim yourself to be a protector of the constitution? In spite of being in a constitutional position, you are violating it. You don't have any right to be the Prime Minister, ex-prime minister," she added.
On Monday, in a shocking revelation, PM Modi while addressing a rally in Serampore in West Bengal, on Monday, has said that he is currently in touch with 40 Trinamool MLAs. He further claimed that after May 23, when results of the elections would be announced, Trinamool MLAs would abandon 'Didi' (West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee).
"Didi, when the results will be announced on May 23 and lotus(BJP) will bloom on all four corners of the country, your MLAs will also abandon you and run away. Just watch. Even today, I am in touch with 40 of your MLAs. It is difficult for you to survive now, Didi because of your betrayal," said PM Modi.
Reacting to this claims of the Prime Minister, Trinamool leader Derek O'Brien, on Monday has said that not even one councillor will leave Trinamool slamming the Prime Minister for doing 'horse trading instead of 'election campaign'. He also added that they (Trinamool) will be approaching the EC to charge PM Modi with horse trading.
