After clashes broke out during Amit Shah's rally on Tuesday, Trinamool's Derek O'Brien held a media briefing blaming BJP workers of violence on Wednesday.

During the media briefing he spoke about BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga who was detained by the Kolkata Police earlier on Wednesday and later released owing to lack of evidence.

O'Brien spoke about Bagga calling him an outsider goon while speaking about the clashes.

"Anybody can come and do a procession, but what were the outsiders... Who is this fellow Tajinder Bagga? Who is he? He was arrested, is he not the same guy who slapped somebody in Delhi? You have taken in your outsider goons," he said.

Bagga had tweeted on Wednesday after being released saying that he was picked up from his hotel on Tuesday night, the night when the violence took place and released when the Police could not find any evidence of him with regards to the violence.

Bagga replied to O'Brien saying that the Trinamool leader was known for making false allegations and challenged him to quit politics if he could prove his involvement in the clashes

"Nobody takes Derek O'Brien seriously. He is well known for making false allegations. I challenge him if he can prove that I was within 500 metres of the spot where violence broke out. I will leave politics if I am proved wrong or else he should leave politics if he fails to prove the charge," he said.
