Ayodhya, A BJP Stronghold Since 2014
Ayodhya has been a stronghold for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2014, winning the constituency for two consecutive terms.
In 2014, BJP’s Lallu Singh contested from Ayodhya for the first time, securing a significant victory with 4,91,761 votes, defeating SP’s Mitrasen Yadav.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Lallu Singh won again by securing 529,021 votes, defeating Anand Sen Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, as the NDA government stormed to power at the Centre.

On Tuesday, soon after voting began for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar said, "The counting process is underway at all the places. We have given strict instructions to all the DMs, SPs and COs (central observers) that the process of counting is done transparently and as per rulebook."
