The actor probably had one of the toughest times on set as he had extensive makeup and prosthetics to deal with. His look, which is radically different in the film was quite a challenge to accomplish and was an even bigger challenge to maintain. Talking about shooting with so much artificial makeup, Akshay said that there was a time when he was restricted to a liquid diet as he could eat anything solid. He said that he used to shoot in the suit with the prosthetics and makeup all day, which took hours to just get ready. The 'Gold' actor revealed that it was so hot that sweat used to stay in his body suit for hours and yet he did not let it deter him. He feels that all the hardship was worth it in the end.

The efforts of the Bollywood star is indeed applause-worthy. Even Rajinikanth himself had said a while back that his suit too weighed a whopping 14 kilograms and that there was a time when he considered leaving the project due to health issues. This goes to show the dedication of the two stars and the filmmaker, who have all laboured for years on this project.

Coming back to the press conference, Akshay even went on to say that after this challenging experience, he should be paying the makers for this once in a lifetime opportunity! Other than the star revealing such astonishing details, Karan Johar also jested that him distributing the film was just a stroke of luck when he senses a golden opportunity. He also joked that he is a terrible actor and nobody should ask him to be in a film when someone asked if he ever planned to act in a South Indian flick.
