Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' has stirred up a storm at the box office ever since its release on November 29. The Hindi version of the film itself has done a phenomenal business so far. Here is how the film fared on it second Sunday.
The Shankar directorial earned Rs 12 crore in its Hindi version alone on Sunday. This is, in fact, an increase from the Saturday collections which grossed at Rs 9.15 crore. With a notable increase of up to 25 percent on the last day of the weekend, '2.0' is showing no signs of slowing down its smashing box office run. Now, the total India wide collections for the film's Hindi version has reached an impressive Rs 166.75 crore, which is a record for both Akshay and the Superstar.
With the Hindi version itself doing so well, the India wide collections are also at an all-time high. The film has surpassed Rs 450 crore in the country and is set to beat Baahubali: The Beginning and Aamir Khan's Dangal, which grossed a little over Rs 500 crore each. However, it is clear that 2.0 doesn't hold a candle to Baahubali 2, which is still the biggest earner for the country and it looks like it will continue to remain so.
The film itself was really well received from certain sections of the audience. Although some did not like the plot, everyone unanimously agreed that the visual effects of the film was truly extraordinary and felt that the big bucks were spent in the right place.
