The ‘biggest visual spectacle’, ‘2.0’ has hit the screens on November 29 and fans of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar have been going gaga on social media. #2point0fromtoday has been trending on Twitter since morning and that says it all about the popularity of the movie.
However, there is bad news for the movie too, with the much-anticipated movie leaking on the Internet within hours of its release. Tamilrockers, notorious for uploading pirated versions of various movies on the day of its release, did so again, following which the movie was available for download. However, the good news is that the website links or URLs have been blocked. Several fans took to Twitter talking about the leak and urging the makers to take action.
Makers also took to Twitter following the leak to urging audiences to not 'spoil the experience' considering the hard work, time, money and manpower that went into the making of the 'visual spectacle'. Urging fans to say 'no to piracy', they asked them to send the pirated links to the concerned email id to 'help Tamil cinema shine.'
Moreover, they also knocked on the Madras High Court’s doors, providing a list of 12,564 illegal websites that leak films. The HC has directed 37 internet service providers (ISPs) to block the websites.
The link of the pirated version of ‘2.0’ movie that was doing the rounds on Twitter now shows ‘Web page blocked’. We hope that very few people would’ve downloaded the print so that chances of it going viral are as less as possible.
‘2.0’, has been directed by Shankar, produced by Lyca Productions and presented by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The movie also stars Amy Jackson.
