‘83: Ranveer Singh calls his World Cup winning squad ‘KAPIL'S DEVILS’ as team comes together for first time in Dharamshala

When it’s a film that traces one of the most glorious chapters in Indian cricket history, the 1983 World Cup win, there's no doubt it won't be a cakewalk and would surely require a lot of preparation. '83' was announced at a grand event by Ranveer Singh, director Kabir Khan and the producers in September 2017, but it is almost after more than one-and-a-half years that all of the members of the cast came together for the first time. The actor, who will play legendary all-rounder and captain Kapil Dev, called his team 'Kapil’s Devils' as the team began the prep in Dharmshala.

Sharing a snap of all the members of the World-cup squad posing euphorically, Ranveer wrote, "KAPILS DEVILS DESCEND ON DHARAMSHALA!!! it’s on!!! @83thefilm@kabirkhankk."

It’s hard to identify all of them due to their looks and poses, but Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Sahil Khattarr as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, R Badree as Sunil Valson, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal are among the members of the cast.

The Himachal city is known for conditions similar to what it is abroad, and that will make the boys gear up well before they reportedly head to London to begin a 100-day schedule for the movie in May.

Previously, Ranveer and Kabir had previously visited Lord's, the Mecca of Cricket, where the historic moment was created, for research during the India vs England series. They had even bumped into Sachin Tendulkar.
