'A beautiful love story, both brave and moving': Alia Bhatt reviews mother Soni Razdan’s ‘No Fathers in Kashmir’

After being banned by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for months, Soni  Razdan’s movie ‘No Fathers in Kashmir’ finally released on April 5, 2019. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt took to Twitter and reviewed her mother's film.

After being banned by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for months, Soni Razdan’s movie ‘No Fathers in Kashmir’ finally released on April 5, 2019. Following the same, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt took to Twitter to review her mother's film. In a heartfelt post, she described the film as 'a beautiful love story, both brave and moving'. She further extended love to mother Soni Razdan and hailed her for her performance. 

In the post, Alia wrote, "A beautiful love story, both brave and moving. #NoFathersInKashmir is a story so relevant for our times. A must watch. Mama how amazing are you @Soni_Razdan, you make me soooo proud @ashvinkumar lots of love to you and the entire team!!"

Written and directed by Oscar Nominated Ashvin Kumar, ‘No Fathers in Kashmir’ revolves around the love story of two 16-year-olds, Noor and Majid, who set to unveil the mystery of her father's disappearance and had to face many hurdles on the way. 

The film that claims to give the audience a better understanding of the regular lives of the people in the conflict-ridden Valley, stars Zara Webb, Ashvin Kumar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anshuman Jha, Natasha Mago in the pivotal roles. 

Previously, the 'Raazi' actress had requested the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to ‘lift the ban’ on her mother Soni Razdan’s movie ‘No Fathers in Kashmir’ as it was ‘stuck for months’ waiting for a certificate. Swara Bhasker, Pritish Nandy and Shashi Tharoor were among the others who had tweeted in support of it previously.

Meanwhile, Alia is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming venture 'Kalank'. Directed by Abhishek Verman the period drama also stars Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the lead. It is all set to hit the theatres on April 17.
