The much-anticipated Bollywood wedding of the 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela' stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone took place on Wednesday and Thursday, November 14 and 15 at Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy. Keeping up with both the cultures, the celebrity couple got hit hitched twice- one time in the traditional Konkani style and a day after that in traditional Sindhi style.
The couple who reportedly spent around Rs. 2 crores for their wedding reportedly set up a makeshift Gurdwara within the Villa for the Anand Karaj. Media reports further suggest that a priest was flown all the way from Amritsar to execute the Sindhi wedding ceremony. Following the Konkani wedding on Wednesday, the couple got hitched in Sindhi style on Thursday. As per media reports, the Anand Karaj started off in the morning and went on till the afternoon.
Following the Sindhi ceremony, the couple unveiled the very first pictures from the wedding with identical social media posts. Both the stars captioned the images with a red heart emoji. Several Bollywood stars including Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, and Priyanka Chopra congratulated the couple. As the wedding was a private ceremony and kept much under wraps, fans were eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the newlyweds. In just minutes after the release, the pictures received over thousands of likes and were shared widely on social media.
Here's take a look at the posts:
The wedding seemed to a perfect blend of cultures. Dressed head to toe in Sabyasachi accoutre, the couple donned traditional South Indian attire for their Konkani wedding ceremony. Deepika was seen wearing a traditional red and gold ensemble while complimenting her was Ranveer who was sporting a crisp white and gold outfit.
Again, for the Anand Karaj, the couple matched their attire in the classic red and gold combo. While Ranveer wore green and red rubies around his neck, Deepika donned a heavy red lehenga and paired it up with a gold tradition mangtika. She was looking like a perfect Sindhi bride as she also wore a beautiful head-scarf with a shloka inscribed in it, that read "Sada Saubhagyawati Bhava" which means have a blissful life.
