Aamir Khan did not have a very fruitful 2018 on the professional front as his film Thugs of Hindostan failed to make an impact at the box office. Due to bad word of mouth and some harsh criticisms, the film's collections dwindled drastically after the first couple of days. While Aamir has already explained his stand on the debacle once, he did so once again at a recent media interaction.

During an event, Mr Perfectionist opened up about the film's failure and said that people came to watch the film because of his name and so he must take full responsibility for it. However, many had gone after the film's director Vijay Krishna Acharya and not Khan, but the actor feels that he is not to be blamed. Defending the filmmaker, he said that all directors start off a project with good intentions and that if a director is in the wrong then so is he. Aamir pointed out that the most important thing was to learn from the mistakes.

He also added that the audience has all the rights to give harsh criticisms if they feel that way. However, he did add that it was not all bad as some also liked the film. This statement comes more than two months after his previous statement on 'Thugs of Hindostan's debacle where he had assured that they had tried their best but it just didn't work out. 'Thugs of Hindostan' had also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles.

The actor disclosed that they are looking for the right script as his son's sensibilities are similar to his own.
