Dance choreographer Remo D’Souza is currently prepping up for his new movie Street Dancer 3D. The movie stars Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan in lead roles. The movie also stars Shakti Mohan, Nora Fatehi, Punit Pathak, Caroline Wilde, Raghav Juyal, Dharmesh Yelande and dancing master Prabhudeva. It is also reported that Aparshakti Khurrana will make a special appearance in the movie. Street Dancer 3D is directed by Prabhudeva and is shot in a 3D format. The journey started in 2013 with Remo’s movie ABCD-Any Body Can Dance. However, Street Dancer 3D is not a part of the ABCD franchise.

In 2015, Remo revealed on a dance reality show that he found some really talented dancers in India and decided to cast them in the movie ABCD. Supposedly, he also credited his team for the success of the film. He further added that he was able to make the movie because of Sushant Khatri, Raghav Juyal and Dharmesh Yelande, who were the main reason behind his decision for making a dance film. Talking about Dharmesh specifically, Remo added that he became ‘sir’ because of him. He allegedly stated that before meeting Dharmesh, he was only Remo. However, he got the title of ‘sir’ after he met Yelande. The way Dharmesh spoke and followed Remo became the very reason why he acquired the respectful title.

ABCD and ABCD 2 movies belong to the ABCD franchise. However, in an interview with a news daily, D’Souza mentioned that Street Dancer 3D is an entirely different movie. He reportedly said that Street Dancer 3D focuses on street dancing, although different forms of dance like jazz and contemporary have been included in the movie. He also added that when you mix these dance forms with street dancing, they become different, entirely. Though both the movies are centred around dance and dance forms, they are not from the same franchise.

Not much has been revealed about the characters and the plot of the movie. However, it is speculated that Varun plays a Punjabi boy, while Shraddha will be playing the role of a Pakistani dancer. In the film, their characters apparently meet in the United Kingdom and later they team up to fight for a common goal. Nora Fatehi is also playing an important role in the movie and is expected to have an epic dance-off with Shraddha. Katrina Kaif was reportedly the first choice to be cast opposite Varun. However, she had to opt-out of the movie to accommodate her dates for the Salman Khan starrer Bharat. Street Dancer 3D  was slated to hit the theatres in November this year, but it will now release on January 24, 2020.
