Abhishek Bachchan who was last seen in 'Manmarziyaan' starring Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, has been quite vocal about his success and failure. The actor has been open about wanting to do more as an actor and taking a step back to make a decision on the kind of films he would want to be a part of in the future.
At a recent interaction at a film summit, the actor who made his debut with JP Dutta's 'Refugee' revealed a tough moment of his career wherein he got slapped outside a cinema hall. The 'Housefull 3' actor narrated an incident where he was slapped during the screening of 'Shararat' which released in 2002, for "embarrassing his family's name".
Abhishek described the incident saying that he had once gone to a cinema hall to see how his film 'Shararat' was doing when a lady slapped him saying that he was embarrassing his family's name, and asked him to stop acting. The actor revealed that he laughs about the incident now but at that point of a time, it was not a very good feeling.
'Shararat' was a film about Rahul (Abhishek Bachchan) who was asked to stay at an old age home as a part of his punishment of community service. He is reluctant at first but eventually gets attached to the elderly living at the old age home. 'Shararat' starred Hrishitaa Bhatt, Amrish Puri, Tinu Anand, Helen, AK Hangal, Dara Singh, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote and Mohnish Bahl to name a few.

Abhishek Bachchan made a comeback of sorts with his most recent release 'Manmarziyaan' starring Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu. The film was helmed by Anurag Kashyap. The film has been a part of a controversy wherein members of a certain community objected to the smoking scene in the film and demanded the film be banned. This resulted in the makers of the film editing the objectionable scenes from the film sans director Anurag Kashyap's approval. Anurag Kashyap then took to Twitter slammed the makers of the film for the same. 'Manmarziyaan' collected Rs. 21.40 crore in its first week and Rs. 3.23 crore in its second week, making the collections of the film so far a total of Rs. 24.63 crore.
Abhishek will next be seen alongside wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 'Gulab Jamun'. The actors will reunite on screen after Mani Ratnam's directorial 'Raavan' which released in 2010. The couple will be sharing screen space after 8 years. 'Gulab Jamun' is slated to release in 2019.
