Abhishek Banerjee to feature in 'Dostana 2' with Kartik, Janhvi, and debutant Lakshya

Actor Abhishek Banerjee has received positive reviews for his roles in movies like the horror-comedy 'Stree' and Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Dream Girl' and 'Bala'

Abhishek Banerjee has been making his way into Bollywood with memorable performances as a supporting actor in Amar Kaushik's Stree and Raj Shaandilya's Dream Girl. The actor who was last seen in Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala will now be seen in Dharma Productions' next venture Dostana 2. The actor took to his Instagram account to share the news with his fans by posting a photo of merchandise from the ongoing shoot of the film in Chandigarh.

The original story

Abhishek Banerjee will be seen in Dostana 2 which is the sequel to the 2008 film Dostana which featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra. The Tarun Mansukhani directorial revolved around two grown men who live together in an apartment and pretend homosexuality for the conservative landlady. Later, both fall in love with the same woman but settle with her friendship.

Dostana 2 is set to feature actors Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and newcomer Lakshya Lalwani along with veteran actor Kirron Kher who was also seen in a pivotal role in the first installment. Abhishek Banerjee has previously worked as a casting director with director Collin D'Cunha in the Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim starrer Secret Superstar. The actor claimed to have known Kartik Aaryan for a long time and he looks forward to a new experience on the sets of the film.

Dostana 2 will also see the debut of Fateh Randhawa, the grandson of Dara Singh and son of Vindu Dara Singh. The film has recently been in the news for the cancellation of its Delhi shoot schedule owing to the pollution level and the smog prevalent in the capital. It was reported that the crew was unable to shoot due to low visibility and that some of them were also facing breathing issues.
