Actor-choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan reacts after FIR lodged against him for sexual harassment

A First Information Report was registered against Salman Yusuff Khan at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai on Wednesday after a woman alleged he sexually harassed her. The woman, also a dancer, in her complaint had stated that Salman touched her inappropriately on separate occasions and that he and his team threatened her and her troupe.

Salman Yusuff Khan has refuted the allegations of sexual harassment made against him by a woman, after which he was booked.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Salman called it ‘wrong allegations with vested interests’ having the ‘intent to extort monies’. He asserted that he has full faith in the judiciary and that ‘truth will prevail, if the Almighty wills.’ 

A First Information Report was registered against the dancer-choreographer-actor at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai on Wednesday after the woman alleged he sexually harassed her.    

The woman, also a dancer, in her complaint had stated that Salman touched her inappropriately when they met for the first time at a coffee shop in Oshiwara and later offered to drop her home. When she objected, he allegedly told her ‘such things happened in Bollywood.’ 

Later, the two of them were a part of a dance group for an event in Dubai. After reaching there, the two of them headed to Bahrain for another show. In her FIR, she detailed that Salman introduced her to his cousin brother and both of them allegedly touched her inappropriately in the car on their journey back to Dubai. 

The woman also claimed that following the alleged incidents, she and her troupe were ‘harassed’ for days and even threatened with dire consequences. Salman’s brother had also been named in the FIR. 

Salman Yusuff Khan’s claim to fame was the dance-based reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ which he won twice. He was one of the actors in ‘Any Body Can Dance’ and ‘Lakshmi’ apart from brief appearances in ‘Wanted’ and ‘Rakta Charitra’. He has also featured in other reality shows like ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’, ‘Nach Baliye’, ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’, among others.

 He reportedly is also a part of the cast of ‘ABCD 3’ or ‘3’, starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.
