Working post-pregnancy no longer a stereotype in Bollywood?

Bollywood evidently has been associated with the stereotype of married female actors leaving their jobs to focus on family. Though male actors were not inclined to do so, female actors were reportedly expected to leave the entertainment industry in order to focus on their family life. With changing times, the stereotype has wiped-off from the industry as many actors make comebacks into the industry post-marriage and post-pregnancy. Here are some of the examples of actors who have made their comeback post-pregnancy breaking the stereotype!

Kareena Kapoor 

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan tied the knot back in 2012. Kareena gave birth to her son Taimur Ali Khan in December 2016. The actor then reportedly only took a year's break to start working again in films in 2017. The actor featured alongside Arjun Kapoor in Ki & Ka which was a success at the box-office, havign earned about ₹ 71 crores. Kareena will be continuing to work in the film industry and has some interesting projects lined up like Good Newwz and Angrezi Medium.

Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji made her comeback with the film Hichki in 2018. She played a teacher suffering from Tourette Syndrome. The actor was on a two-year break from films after giving birth to her daughter Adira Chopra. Rani will now be seen in the sequel of her 2014 film Mardaani. She will be seen reprising the role of a police officer.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai married Abhishek Bachchan back in 2007. The actor reportedly took a sabbatical from work back in 2010 after the film Guzaarish directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She made her comeback in the industry with the 2015 film Jazbaa alongside Irrfan Khan. She gave birth to her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011. She will be next seen voicing for the Hindi dubbed version for the Hollywood film Maleficient: Mistress Of Evil.
