After Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' Aims To Cross The Great Wall And Conquer China

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer 'Zero' is all set to release in China.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, 'Zero' which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles is all set to release in China as well. The film is one of the most awaited movies of this year. Not all Bollywood films are released in China, but in the last few years, there have been some films that have done exceptionally well in that country.

Film Critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news and revealed that the movie will release in China by next year in March. He wrote, “#Xclusiv: #Zero is definitely releasing in #China... While the release date is not finalised yet, it might be before March 2019, Aanand L Rai tells me.” 

There are very few films that have released and done well in China. Here are some of the films that hit the theaters in China.

3 Idiots

Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy-drama stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and R. Madhavan in lead roles. It made about Rs 16 crore in China.

My Name Is Khan

The film, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, made Rs 50 lakh in box-office collections there.

Dhoom 3

Yash Raj Films’ action thriller franchise that features Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif made it's way to China. It earned Rs 24 crore in box-office collections out there.

PK

Aamir Khan’s satirical take on religion helmed by Rajkumar Hirani is the highest-grossing Indian film in China. It made Rs 123 crore after a strategically planned and promoted release in the country.

Happy New Year 

Shah Rukh Khan’s musical heist comedy featured Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sonu Sood along with him in lead roles. The film made about Rs1.68 crore in China.

Dangal

Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' released in China in May 2017 where it occupied 9,000 screens initially. The film emerged as the highest Bollywood grosser in India last year, making Rs 1800 crore in lifetime box-office collections.

Sultan 

The Salman Khan starrer released in China and where it occupied 11,000 screens initially with about 40,000 screenings per day. The film made around Rs 584 crores in lifetime box-office collections. 

Bahubali 

Rajamouli’s by-now iconic war epic franchise had secured about 6,000 screens in China and managed Rs7 crore in collections. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.

Well, with the release of 'Zero' in China, the makers hope to create a new box office record.
