'Badhaai Ho' adressed the theme of an elderly couple becoming parents in their 50's and how they deal with their family members and the society's reaction. Ayushmann since the very beginning of his career has chosen films with such unconventional topics, whether it is 'Vicky Donor' where he plays a sperm donor or 'Shubh Mangal Saavadhan' where he plays a character who suffers from erectile dysfunction. He has always belived in pushing the envelope rather than sticking to the repetitive content.

According to reports, when Ayushmann was asked about doing  film on homosexuality, the actor said that he would love to do a film on homosexuality. He further added that the topic is on his radar and that he wants to be the first one to do it.

Reportedly he claimed that a mainstream film on homosexuality should happen as soon as possible but it cannot be serious. It must be entertaining and fun. He said that he would like to send out a strong message in a fun way, just like in his previous films.

Even after six years in the industry and nearly a dozen films later, Ayushmann Khurrana says his aim is to be consistent with his choices by retaining his innocence towards the craft. The 34-year-old actor believes he has learnt to trust his intuition when it comes to selecting films.

In an interview with PTI earlier, the actor had spoken about his approach to all his films. He said,

“I approach all my films as my first. If you carry that innocence, it reflects in the camera. I know I have become a star but I don’t want to believe it. I want to be that simple, no fuss guy who approaches a film as if it is my first movie.”

Well, Ayushmann is currently enjoying the success of his two brilliant releases.
