Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta had recently accused actor Nana Patekar of harassment, while the duo was shooting for a song sequence in the film 'Horn OK Please'. The actress had alleged that Nana Patekar wanted to do intimate steps with her in a song, which he initially was not supposed to be a part of. Post the incident in 2008, the actress had filed a complaint, but it reached no conclusion. The actress had moved to the United States of America post the incident. Recently, after 10 years, Dutta returned to Mumbai and made headlines after she once again shed light on the past incident. In a recent interview, when she was questioned whether the #MeToo moment will take place in India, she said that it will not happen until she gets justice for what happened to her 10 years ago and went on to narrate the incident.
On Thursday, October 11, the Mahila Congress organised a protest outside the Oshiwara Police Station against Nana Patekar and in support of Tanushree Dutta. One among many protestors outside the location exclusively told Republic TV "I am sure you all know that she was told to do a few steps of the dance sequence that was not appropriate for a woman and although she has raised her voice after 10 years, we are standing behind Tanushree Dutta and every woman who has faced this injustice. She further asserts that "if the law does not do justice to them, then we will protest and raise our voice against the predators"
Earlier, Tanushree Dutta was spotted at the Oshiwara police station where she registered an FIR against Nana Patekar, Ganesh Acharya, Samee Siddhiqui and Rakesh Sarang under IPC section 354 and 509. The actress left the police station after 5 hours after the statement was recorded by her and two other witnesses. After which, an FIR was registered against the four.
And, on October 6, a complaint was filed against Nana Patekar, Ganesh Acharya, Samee Siddiqui, Rakesh Sarang, and MNS party workers for sexual harassment. It read as " I, Tanushree Dutta, aged 34, hereby lodge my complaint about registration of an FIR under section 354, 354(A), section 34 and section 509 of IPC (Indian Penal Code) against Nana Patekar, Ganesh Acharya, Samee Siddiqui, Rakesh Sarang, and MNS party workers."
