Coming in support of Arjun, the filmmaker said that he completely agrees with his words and understands that he's upset. He clarified that it was a fun and lighthearted game that has now been completely blown out of proportion. Adding that a response like this was not justified, he added that people really need to stop spreading so much negativity over nothing. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, "I completely agree with you Arjun! Was a harmless fun game and did not warrant this response! People genuinely need to stop this intense negativity...."

To those who are unaware, trolls went after Anshula Kapoor after the episode of Koffee With Karan came out featuring Arjun and Janhvi Kapoor. In the episode, there was a particular segment where the contestants had to call a member of their family and make them say, "Hey Karan, what's up". While the actor called Boney Kapoor, the 'Dhadak' actress ringed Anshula. However, the elder sister could not hear her voice on the phone and hence Janhvi lost the round. The actress had then jokingly said that she sometimes feels like an unloved child. It was at this incident that the trolls began gunning for Arjun's sister, to which the 'Panipat' actor had a strongly worded retort.
