After receiving huge appreciation for about her performance in her directorial debut film 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', Kangana Ranaut is now all set to bring her own life story to the silver screen. As per media reports, the actress recently opened up about her upcoming directorial project and said that she is going to helm her own biopic depicting her journey in Bollywood. It will be reportedly scripted by 'Baahubali' writer KV Vijayendra, who has also penned her previous project 'Manikarnika'.
In a statement to ANI, the actress said, "My own story is the subject of my next directorial. But it is not a propaganda film with characters who are starkly black and white, rather it is a sincere, heartfelt account of my journey so far with plenty of lighter moments."
"I'm emboldened by the love of the people around me, who have never judged me but accepted me for who I am." she added.
Media reports suggest that Kangana was approached by Vijayendra about 12 weeks back when he urged to write a film based on her life. Although she was initially unsure, she finally gave a nod to the project. Talking about the same in a recent interview she said she was initially nervous but then said yes to the film because she has complete faith in Vijayendra.
Talking about the film she said that it will portray her in all highs and lows and follow her journey from being 'a girl from the mountains' to becoming a big name in Bollywood.
"In the end, it is the story of an achiever, a girl from the mountains who came into Bollywood without any connections in the industry or even a godfather, and went on to carve a niche for herself against all odds, with some memorable films like 'Gangster', 'Tanu Weds Manu' and its sequel, 'Fashion', 'Queen' and more recently 'Manikarnika', bagging three National Awards along the way" she said in a statement to ANI.
Kangana Ranaut was praised widely by the audience and critics for 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' which is currently fairing well at the box office. The film is a period drama based on the life and struggles of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
