As the team of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ made an appearance on the show as guests, Kapil boasted about his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the inauguration of the National Museum of Indian Cinema.

As he started opening up, one of the actors of the film, Rajkummar Rao was in the mood to pull his leg and quipped about the PM being upset with him, “Modiji asked about the guy who recently got married. I asked if he was talking about Virat but then he said Kapil. He asked me to convey it to you that he was remembering him and also looked a little annoyed."

As Kapil conveyed his embarrassment by trying to shrug it off, saying it is an ‘old’ matter now, another member of the cast, Juhi Chawla prompted him to talk about it.

This time, the actor-comedian blamed Twitter for the controversy, stating, “Twitter naam ki cheez hai, isne bade pange create kiye hai life mein."

When Navjot Singh Sidhu cuts in that he should avoid tweeting after midnight, Kapil responded that was the case before his marriage. The ‘Firangi’ star then with folded hands apologised, “Modi sahab sorry" and asked the actors to change the topic.

On September 9, 2016, Kapil had an outburst on Twitter and fumed that he had to pay Rs 5 lakh bribe to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to construct his office despite paying Rs 15 crore in taxes for five years. In his next tweet, he had tagged PM Modi and asked, ‘Is this your ‘achche din’?’
