Akshay Kumar has been one of the most bankable actors in the Hindi film industry for several years in a row. After all his films in 2018 became blockbusters- he also has an impressive roster for this year starting off with 'Kesari', followed by 'Housefull 4', then 'Mission Mangal' and 'Good News' later on in the year. Now, reports are doing the rounds that he has signed the dotted line on another project, which is a horror comedy.

If reports are to be believed, then Akshay has agreed to come on board for a horror comedy with famous South Indian director and actor Raghava Lawrence. Turns out that it will be a remake of famous films 'Muni' and 'Kanchana', which were directed by Lawrence and became massive hits. However, it won't be a cut and dry remake but will instead only borrow certain aspects from these two films.

As for now, the shooting will apparently kick start in April. After the phenomenal success of the Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Stree', it looks like horror comedy might be the next big trend in B-town. Moreover, knowing the fact that Raghava Lawrence has already aced the genre down South, this could be one explosive team up. Then again Akshay is no stranger to such films.

Back in 2007, he had already starred in the psychological comedy-thriller 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' which was a remake of Rajinikanth's 'Chandramukhi'. Coming back to the yet untitled film, Akshay is touted to play the role of a man who is really afraid of ghosts and is superstitious. However, his life takes an unpleasant turn when he encounters the ghost of a transgender. Overall it looks like the actor is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that he will have the upper hand in 2019.

In the meantime, producer Karan Johar recently announced that 'Good News' starring Akshay and Kareena Kapoor Khan will release on September 6.
