Aamir Khan’s affinity and his 100 per cent track record with Christmas releases in recent years is well known, and the actor is set to return to the festive period next year again. It has now been confirmed that the 54-year-old's next ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ will release on Christmas 2020.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the news on Twitter and also revealed that Aamir’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ co-star Atul Kulkarni has written the script. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures are the producers while the actor’s former manager and director of critically acclaimed ‘Secret Superstar’, Advait Chandan, will be helming the movie.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the official remake of Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. Aamir had announced the movie on his birthday on March 14 this year. The actor is on his way to lose 20 kilos for the role.

Coming back to Aamir' love for Christmas releases, starting from ‘Ghajini’ in 2006 to ‘Dangal’ in 2017, Aamir delivered back-to-back hits on the festive weekend that included ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dhoom 3’, ‘PK’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ as well.

However, for the last two years, the ‘Ghulam’ star’s movies released on Diwali. While Aamir’s 2017 production ‘Secret Superstar’, in which he had a small role, was a success, 2018’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ was his first failure in almost 10 years.

Interestingly, last year on Hrithik Roshan’s birthday, January 10, Rakesh Roshan had announced that ‘Krrish 4’ will be releasing on Christmas 2020.

Though there has been no update on it since then, it’d be interesting to see two biggies clashing on the festive release.
