Ever since Netflix released its teaser revealing new characters like Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey, fans have been desperately waiting for the new season to drop on Netflix.
While the fans wait for the release date, Kalki Koechlin who attended an award show on Wednesday spoke to the media about her character.
She said: "I can't reveal much details. The experience was wonderful. We shot in South Africa and Delhi. There are interesting plots and turns. My character's name is Batya and she works in the ashram with Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi's character)"
Meanwhile, at the same award show, Radhika Apte refused to reveal any details and said: "Wo promotion ka time aayega na, tab bataoungi main. Arey nai bata sakti, mere dost. Mere dimaag mein director aa raha hai is waqt ki wo mujhe kya bolega agar maine kuch bol diya."
The makers did not reveal much in the teaser, but the excited fans and viewers will be surprised to see the new addition of actors into the game.
Also, Pankaj Tripathi (who essayed the character of an enigmatic godman in the first season) is expected to have a more prominent role in the second season.
"This season will be the baap of the first one. Even if people know Ganesh Gaitonde, they won't know what to expect from him. We shot extensively across Mombasa (Kenya), Cape Town and Johannesburg," said Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
"As an actor, I can't talk in detail about the show. I've been asked not to. But yes, I can definitely say that the scale of the show is huge this time. The writing is fantastic and the show will be very interesting," said Pankaj Tripathi in an interview.
Based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 novel by the same name, 'Sacred Games' received immense critical acclaim for the gripping plot and powerful performances.
The plot, in the first season, revolved around the lives of Mumbai city cop Sartaj Singh, and crime lord Ganesh Gaitonde. The show progressed as the lives of the two characters collided.
Singh was shown on a mission to uncover a terror attack in Mumbai in 25 days and to solve the mystery. All the eight hour-long episodes were directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
