De De Pyaar De

Akiv Ali’s directorial drama stars Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu besides Devgn in pivotal roles. The hot and charismatic investment banker falls head over heels in love with a beautiful lass who is in her mid-20s. The film focuses on live-in relationships, apart from comedy. The scene in which Tabu and Rakul Preet use their car to blow sarcastic remarks on each other, Ajay nervously tries to cool them down by saying Puraani gaadi apni jagah hai, aur naye ke apne faayde hain, when loosely translated means that the old is good but better also has its own benefits.

Golmaal

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal series stars an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starred in two films of the franchise. The first instalment was released in 2006. In one scene, Devgn pretends to be the blind old man after breaking into a blind couple’s house. Sporting a pair of black glares, monkey cap and donned in a white kurta, he slaps the college dean multiple times. This five-minute comedy slice will give you a barrel of laughs.

Total Dhamaal

This adventure comedy film revolves around a bunch of people who are competing with each other whilst chasing money. Directed and Co-produced by Indra Kumar, the third instalment of the Dhamaal series stars an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Eesha Gupta and Javed Jaffrey. Devgn portrayed the thief, also known as ‘Bro’ in the film. During the chase, the slow-witted Manav (Javed) refused to help his brother from drowning in quicksand. The scene was loaded with the hilarious accent of Manav and Aadi begging for help was worth the applause.

Ishq

Helmed by Indra Kumar, Ishq was one of the most popular romantic comedies of that time. The film was a perfect blend of humour, melodrama and action. Starring Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla and Kajol alongside Ajay Devgn, this 20-year-old film’s track Neend Churayi Meri is still a favourite of Bollywood fans. The first half of the film was applauded for the actor's impeccable comedy and perfect timings. With Aamir Khan trying to walk on the pipe, bridging two high rise building gave us goosebumps and belly laugh, all at once.
