Ajay Devgn shares the Hirkani movie trailer; praises Maratha history

Ajay Devgn who is currently shooting the historical drama Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior has shared the trailer of a Marathi movie, Hirkani. Ajay who was seen in De De Pyaar De opposite Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh will soon feature as Tanaji Malusare in the upcoming movie.  Tanaji Malusare is a Maharashtrian Military leader in the 17th Century. The movie is directed by Om Raut is based on the real-life hero.

Ajay Devgn took to Twitter to share the official trailer of the Hirkani. Hirkani is a story of a mother and the lengths she goes to just to get back home to her infant. While sharing the trailer of the movie, Ajay Devgn said that he learned a lot about the Maratha history while shooting for his upcoming movie. Hirkani stars Marathi actor Sonalee Kulkarni in the lead role, as Hirkani. Sonalee has even changed her twitter name to the name of the role she plays.

Hirkani is the ‘brave story of motherhood,’ in Ajay's words. Sonalee Kulkarni took to twitter, and thanked Ajay Devgn for sharing the trailer of her movie. Both Hirkani and Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior are stories from the same era, set in the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Apart from Devgn, many Bollyowwd stars came forward to congratulate the cast and crew of the movie.

About Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior

Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior movie is a biographical period drama of a fierce military leader from the Maratha Empire. The movie is produced by Ajay Devgn and co-produced by Vikrant Sharma. Apart from Ajay, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol are also a part of the movie. While Kajol plays the role of Laxmi bai, Saif embodies the character of Udayban Rathod. The music of the movie is given by ace composers Ajay-Atul. The movie was slated to release this year. However, it will now release on January 10, 2020.

Ajay Devgn will also be seen playing the role of the Indian footballer Syed Abdul Rahim in the movie Maidaan. The movie is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and also stars National Film Award-winning actor Keerthi Suresh from the South Indian film industry. Ajay will also be seen in Abhishek Dudhaiya directed movie Bhuj: Pride of India. He will star opposite Sonakshi Sinha in the movie, which is slated to release on August 14, 2020.
