The announcement that Akshay Kumar fans were waiting for, has finally come from the horse’s mouth, along with an interesting first look. The actor finally announced ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, reportedly the official remake of Tamil horror-comedy franchise ‘Kanchana’, to be directed by the original’s director Raghava Lawrence and also starring Kiara Advani.
Akshay on Saturday, posted on social media, "Bringing you one bomb of a story,#LaxmmiBomb starring @Advani_Kiara & yours truly!Bursting in cinemas on 5th June,2020" along with the first look from the movie, where he is seen applying kohl on his eyes. And it seems he plays the role of the transgender played by veteran Sarathkumar in the franchise.
Netizens went gaga over his look and praised him for his 'hatke' avatar.
The actor also returns to the horror-comedy franchise after his successful ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ 12 years ago.
‘Laxmmi Bomb’ is set to release on June 5. The movie has been written by Farhad Samji of 'Housefull 4' fame and is being produced by Aruna Bhatia, Cape of Good films, Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar and Fox Star Studios.
A few days ago, Kiara had kicked off the shoot of the movie by sharing a clapboard of the movie. An official announcement has been impending since then.
Previously, reports claimed Amitabh Bachchan will play a transgender in the movie, though there is no confirmation on the same.
Akshay is also shooting for Rohit Shetty’s cop drama ‘Sooryavanshi’ currently, while ‘Housefull 4’ and another movie co-starring Kiara, ‘Good News’ are also set to release this year. The ‘Khiladi Kumar’ will also make his debut in the digital space with ‘The End’ for Amazon Prime soon.
