In March 2017, Akshay Kumar donated ₹ 9 Lakhs each to the families of the CRPF Jawans martyred in a Naxalite ambush near Chhatisgarh. It was after this instance that Akshay Kumar began to think about the Bharat Ke Veer app and website.
Akshay Kumar has always donated generously to Indian soldiers and their families. As an avid philanthropist, Akshay was quick to realise that a lot of Indians like him wish to contribute to the cause as well but end up losing their money to fraudsters who never let the donations reach the Army.
