Ali Abbas Zafar Trivialises Salman Khan's Outrageous Remark On Priyanka Chopra, Says ‘What He’s Doing To Her Happens To Me On Set Everyday'

  • Ever since the promotions of 'Bharat' started, actor Salman Khan can't help but point out that Priyanka Chopra Jonas who had earlier confirmed to be part of the period drama, opted out at the last minute thus leaving the makers in a lurch

The director of 'Bharat' Ali Abbas Zafar has been busy promoting the film. In a recent interview, the ace-filmmaker was asked about the 'bruised ego' of the film's lead actor, Salman Khan. For the uninitiated, After Priyanka Chopra quit the film, Khan has taken multiple shots at her stating that the actress left the 'biggest film of her career' to get married to singer-songwriter Nick Jonas.

During the interview, Zafar was asked if his ego was also bruised like Salman's, to which he stated that he and Priyanka are good friends and that what has been said by Salman was all in 'good humour' Further elaborating, Zafar said that whatever the 'Dabangg' actor  has been doing to Priyanka, he would do the same to him (Zafar) too, and that is just his 'tongue cheek humour'. 

Prior to this, actress Katrina Kaif also defended Khan and cited his 'sense of humour' as the reason behind these comments. In an interview, she went on to say that everything Khan says, one has to take it with a 'big bucket of salt' and that most of the time, he says things for 'effect' and does not mean it. 

Set in the backdrop of Indian Independence, the film 'Bharat' portrays the journey of a man named with the same name, played by Salman, in parallel with the journey of the country towards independence. With a tagline that reads: 'the journey of a man and a country together', the film features the actor in five different looks according to his age and profession as it follows his life from 1964 to 2010.

 

The film is produced by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar under the banner of Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd. and Salman Khan Films, presented by T-Series. The film is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language historical period drama film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar which is set to release on June 5.
