Alia Bhatt Writes An Open Letter To Sister Shaheen, Says 'I Feel Terrible Because Despite Living With You For 25 years, I Have Never Really Understood Your Silent Moments Of Depression'

On World Mental Health Day, Alia Bhatt's sister Shaheen Bhatt launched their debut book titled ' I’ve never been (un)happier'. Recently, after reading Shaheen's book, Alia posted a heartwarming video.

On World Mental Health Day, Alia Bhatt's sister Shaheen Bhatt launched their debut book titled ' I’ve never been (un)happier'.  Earlier in a report, Shaheen had spoken about her struggle with depression and stated that she has been living with it, since she was 12 years old, and she has been suicidal on more than one occasion. She further spoke about how she would always be consumed by the terrifying thought of having unrelenting anguish, hoping to get an escape from a bleak and unbearable future. Her book is said to be a memoir about the people living in darkness, living in the hope of finding the light. Recently, after reading Shaheen's book, Alia posted a heartwarming video sharing a lovely message for her. 

In the video, Alia says  “When I read your book, the book you have written with so much ease and honesty, while I struggle to write one letter to you. I feel awful. I feel terrible because despite living with you for 25 years, I have never really understood your silent moments of depression. I never recognized a snappy moment as something much bigger.”

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt has been roped in for the multi starre project 'Kalank' alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur and Varun Dhawan. The actress has also been signed for Karan Johar's next directorial 'Takht' which is also a multi-starrer. The film features Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar. Further, she will also be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time in 'Brahmastra', While speaking to PTI, the actress said, "We are very excited for the film. It is a step ahead. This will take cinema to another level. I am excited for next year.” Along with her, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy.
