Alia Bhatt wished father Mahesh Bhatt as he turned 70 on Thursday, September 20, and also revealed that she is going to be a part of his next venture 'Sadak 2'

As renowned Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt turned 70 on Thursday, September 20, his daughter Alia Bhatt wished her father with a heartwarming post on social media. The 'Brahmastra' actress took to Instagram and shared a picture of her father posing with a bird and wished her 'not-so-old man' a very happy birthday. In the post, Alia also revealed that she will be a part of Mahesh Bhatt's upcoming venture 'Sadak 2' as she thanked her father for gifting her the opportunity to be a part of it on the occasion of his birthday. This will be the first time Mahesh Bhatt will be directing his daughter Alia, and the actress considers it as the 'greatest present she could ask and dream for'. 

In her post, Alia Bhatt said, "Dear Daddy, On your 70th Birthday you have given me the greatest present I could ask and dream for. You are directing me! Sadak 2 is a dream come true. What I thought will never be possible you have made possible. Thank you, daddy, from the bottom of my heart, soul and bones. This will be a journey of discovery. Of life, movies, feeling and most of all. Of a father and daughter. I love you, my not-so-old man! Happy Birthday 💕"

Alia Bhatt who made her debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year', has now managed to be an eminent personality in the industry owing to her excelling acting skills. She has garnered praises for her performance in several Bollywood films including, '2 States', 'Highway' 'Udta Punjab', 'Dear Zindagi' and 'Raazi'. However, the actress revealed in the post that she thought it won't be ever possible for her to work with her father, and thanked the filmmaker for making it possible.

Alia Bhatt is currently shooting for Ayan Mukerji's upcoming venture 'Brahmastra' which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy. The film was officially announced on October 11, 2017, by producer Karan Johar who also revealed that it would be made into a three-part trilogy.  The fantasy drama is both written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and is slated to hit the theatres on August 15, 2019.
