Alia Bhatt's Reaction On Watching 'Sadak' As A Child Is Unmissable

The Bhatt family surprised fans with an official announcement of 'Sadak 2' on Mahesh Bhatt's 70th birthday on Thursday, September 20. Alia Bhatt took to social media to post a video announcing the sequel to 'Sadak' which released in 1991. The film will mark Mahesh Bhatt's comeback as a director after nearly two decades.

Recently, Alia Bhatt expressed her thoughts about the first time she watched 'Sadak' as a child. As per reports, Alia said that she was very young when she watched the Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt starrer. Reportedly Alia further added saying that she was shocked to see her mother, Soni Razdan being thrown out of a window in one of the scenes. The actress paused the scene and asked her father how could he throw her mother out of the window, as reported. According to reports, Alia said that at the time she didn't have the sense to grasp the fact that it was just a movie and that Razdan was not really thrown out.

'Sadak 2' is close to Alia's heart for the project will mark her father Mahesh Bhatt's comeback as a director after nearly two decades. Reports suggest that the 'Highway' actress is excited to work with Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. This is the first time that Alia Bhatt will be collaborating with her father Mahesh Bhatt. Alia is elated by the fact that she will be directed by her father and had taken to Instagram to share her excitement as she wished her father on his 70th birthday on Thursday, September 20. 

In her post, she wrote, "Dear Daddy, On your 70th Birthday you have given me the greatest present I could ask and dream for. You are directing me! Sadak 2 is a dream come true.. What I thought will never be possible you have made possible. Thank you daddy from the bottom of my heart, soul and bones.This will be a journey of discovery.. Of life, movies, feeling and most of all.. Of a father and daughter. I love you my not-so-old man! Happy Birthday 💕".

'Sadak' revolved around a young man Ravi (Sanjay Dutt), who falls in love with a sex worker (Pooja Bhatt) and their fight against all odds to be together. Reports suggest that 'Sadak 2' will focus on the present life of Sanjay Dutt's character Ravi. Apart from Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt, the cast of 'Sadak 2' includes Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film is slated to release on March 25, 2020.

What's next for Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt is currently working on 'Brahmastra' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. The supernatural thriller is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and is slated to release on August 15, 2019.  The 'Raazi' actress is also working on 'Kalank starring Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in pivotal roles.  Reports also suggest that the actress will be sharing screen space with Aamir Khan for a Netflix original which will be based on the life of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, popularly known as Osho.
