Popular Television actor Alok Nath accused of rape by 90s producer-writer has filed an anticipatory bail application in Mumbai court. The plea for pre-arrest bail was filed before the Additional Sessions, Judge S.S Oza. The court has further adjourned the matter until December 20, after the complainant's lawyer asked for time to file an intervention plea opposing bail for actor Alok Nath.

The rape case was registered against Nath by the Mumbai Police on November 21 based on a complaint filed by the writer-producer Vinta Nanda who had accused him in a Facebook post of raping her 19 years. Actor Alok Nath refuted all the allegations against him and filed a civil suit against Vinta Nanda, asking for Rs 1 as damages for defaming him.
