Besides being one of the most prolific actors in Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is also known to be an avid car enthusiast. Over the years, the iconic actor has amassed a bevvy of hot rides, from the Porsche Cayman, the Rolls-Royce Phantom to the Toyota Land Cruiser. Even in his 50-year-old career, Amitabh Bachchan has driven some of the most beautiful and fastest cars on screen, and many of them were never available for sale in India. On his 77th birthday, we take a look at the best rides of the Badla actor that have scorched the screen.

1. 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible - Don (1978)

The Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic cars of all-time and is a regular fixture in pop-culture. In Indian cinema, the Mustang has been featured in many films, including the red 1973 Mustang convertible that Amitabh drives in the film Don. The Ford Mustang is a two-door, four-seater sports cars that feature a V8 engine which packs quite a punch. The film also featured a host of American luxury cars, such as a Buick Super Riviera and two Chevrolet Impalas.

2. 1973 Porsche 911 Targa - Shaan (1981)

Just like the Mustang, the Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic and celebrated cars in the history of automobiles. It has been in production since 1964, across 8 generations. In the 1981 film, Shaan, Amitabh is seen driving a 1973 Porsche 911 Targa, with 'Targa' standing for the word 'convertible'. During the course of the 911's brief appearance, he remarks about the joy of driving the beautiful sports car.

3. Lincoln Continental Town Car Mark V- Sharaabi (1984)

Lincoln is the luxury brand of the Ford Motor Company and is only sold in North America and the Middle East. In the 1984 film, Sharaabi, Amitabh's introduction scene sees him exit his car, a pristine silver Lincoln Continental Town Car Mark V. The Mark V was a full-size luxury sedan flagship of Lincoln and was sold for a period of eight years. Interestingly, the Mark V in the film features a minibar, located in the trunk. Later on, Amitabh is also seen driving a 1980 Mercedes-Benz W126 S-Class, considered by many to be one of the most popular Mercedes ever. 

4. 1973 Ford Mustang Coupe - Agneepath (1990)

Agneepath remains one of Amitabh Bachchan's best films, and he also won the National Film Award for Best Actor for this role. The 1990 gangster revenge saga saw Amitabh in the now-iconic role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. In the film, Amitabh is seen driving a black 1973 Ford Mustang Coupe, but the car's appearance is cut short after it is riddled with bullets from Vijay's enemies. In another scene, Amitabh is seen travelling in a beautiful Cadillac Eldorado luxury coupe.
