Amitabh Bachchan reveals that his singing debut was like a nightmare

Amitabh Bachchan terms his singing debut as 'nightmarish'

Amitabh Bachchan is a famous Bollywood celebrity who has a humongous fan following for his acting and singing. He made his playback debut with the song Mere Paas Aao from the 1979 movie Mr Natwarlal. Amitabh Bachchan’s tonal quality has impressed many people of the Bollywood fraternity, and he has been recording songs ever since his debut for several music producers. However, on his official blog, Amitabh Bachchan made a revelation regarding his singing debut dating 40 years from now.

In the blog post, Amitabh Bachchan revealed how he found his debut as a playback singer for Mere Paas Aao in Mr Natwarlal to be a nightmare. He said that he was terrified with the sudden news of him singing for his background song. Amitabh Bachchan also added that he battled long hours with the director and the music director of the film that it was a bad idea because he could not sing. He revealed that the song, Mere Paas Aao was recorded in the recording studio of the Mehboob studios, which is now extinct and is used for film shoots or TV shoots. He said the recording experience proved to be similar to a nightmare for him.

Amitabh Bachchan also revealed that when the recording process for Mere Paas Aao was done with, the eminent recording artist Ghoshbabu told him that he should sing more often. Amitabh Bachchan said that he accepted the advice with a large pinch of salt, and added that he did not realise that his singing stint continues after all these years. Amitabh Bachchan concluded with a sarcastic statement saying how his singing has been a pain for all the fans and listeners all these years. His song Mere Paas Aao is one of the most popular songs from his movie Mr Natwarlal
