‘Badla’ is on course to be a winner at the box office. The Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer has enjoyed an impressive run at the box office in the opening weekend. The movie has even gone on to beat the opening weekend collections of the actor duo’s last hit together, ‘Pink’.
Starting off with decent figures of Rs 5.04 crore on Friday, 'Badla' almost doubled its collections over the next two days with Rs 8.55 crore and Rs 9.61 crore coming in. The total now stands at Rs 23.20 crore, according to figures tweeted by Taran Adarsh, who wrote that the movie is on course to be a ‘success story.’ The trade analyst credited the ‘glowing word of mouth’, as was seen in the unanimous critical acclaim, playing a crucial role in the footfalls.
The reason why 'Badla's performance in noteworthy is also because Hollywood giant 'Captain Marvel' is also receiving a good response in India. The Brie Larson starrer had earned over Rs 32 crore in the first two days.
The suspense thriller has now surpassed not just ‘Pink’, the last time the two shared screen space, but also ‘102 Not Out’, Big B’s last hit in terms of opening weekend figures. The two movies had collected Rs 21.51 crore and Rs 16.55 crore respectively.
‘Badla’ is a suspense thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and Shah Rukh Khan is among the producers of the movie.
