Gol Maal is inarguably the best movie of Amol Palekar and the movie is etched for eternity in our hearts and is one of the best feel-good movies of that era. His movies are known to capture the essence of the comedy amidst the middle-class families. Amol Palekar’s portrayal as the dual character Ram Prasad Sharma/ Lakshman Prasad Sharma led him the Filmfare award for the best actor. The songs like Aanewala Pal Jaanewala Hai and the title song Golmaal Hai were the most famous songs from the movie.

Baaton Baaton Mein

The film Baaton Baaton Mein was released in 1979 and anyone who was watched the movie will remember Amol Palekar portraying the charming characterTony Braganza and Tina Munim’s amazing chemistry in the movie. Many songs like Na bole tum, Uthe sabke kadam and the title song Baaton Baaton Mein created waves across the country and the film became a national hit perfectly portraying the love story of two young employed individuals travelling in Mumbai local trains.

Chhoti Si Baat

The movie is a classic from director Basu Chatterji starring Amol and Vidya Sinha in the lead roles. Jaaneman Jaaneman and Na Jaane Kyon were the two evergreen songs that were superhits from the film. Amol Palekar played the role of a young employee who tries to woo Vidya Sinha’s character who is another office goer whom he encounters every day while going to work at a bus stop.

Naram Garam

Naram Garam is one of the films by Hrishikesh Mukherjee which was amongst the low budget hits from that era capturing the essence of a sweet romantic story intertwined with drama. These questions keep the audience glued to the movie's screenplay. The cast from Gol Maal reunited and had Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt in it who created magic together whenever they are cast together. A.K.
