According to reports, Amrita and her daughter Sara Ali Khan, riding high on the success of first two films, ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Simmba’, reached Dehradun on hearing the news about the former’s maternal uncle Madhusudan Bimbet’s demise on Saturday. After the last rites, the duo allegedly entered his disputed bungalow, said to be worth crores. They approached the police to claim that the property belongs to them.

Meanwhile, Dhirendra Semal, Bimbet’s close friend, also approached the police and stated that the deceased had locked the property to prohibit anyone from entering it. He was quoted as saying that no one visited Bimbet during his last moments but now suddenly ‘Sara and Amrita appeared’ to claim ownership of the property.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Nivedita Kukreti was quoted as saying that the police’s role is only on ensuring ‘law and order’ as the matter is sub-judice.

Now, according to the latest update, Shimal had now claimed that Amrita’s maternal uncle had made a will as soon as his health started deteriorating. In the will, Bimbet had expressed his desire to have a foundation named after him and the property donated to an orphanage, Shimal claimed.

Moreover, Bimbet was being taken care of by a caretaker who has also staked claim to the property.

Meanwhile, Amrita’s advocate Manoj Saili stated that it is a ‘family dispute’ and doesn’t concern outsiders. He added that the dispute started when Amrita’s uncle expressed an intention to sell the property.

Saili also revealed that they have approached the court, following which ‘status quo was maintained’ and that the court will decide the fate of the property. The lawyer also stated that Amrita’s aunt, who stays in Goa, is yet to come to Dehradun while the actress duo has left the city.
