Dusshera turned tragic in Amritsar, Punjab as more than 60 persons witnessing the burning of the Raavan effigy at the Joda Phatak railway tracks, lost their lives after a train mowed them down. Even Bollywood stars took to Twitter to express their shock and grief over the tragedy and conveyed their solidarity and condolences to the bereaved families. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt,  Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, among many others tweeted their thoughts on the accident.

From calling it 'heartbreaking', 'heart-wrenching', 'devastating', 'shocking', 'tragic', 'terrible' to saying they were 'pained', 'horrified', 'deeply saddened' and 'hurt', the celebrities sent across their condolences and prayers to the affected families. And almost all of them wondered how the incident took place in the first place, some of them sharing the shocking video, saying it could have easily been avoided, some questioning the lack of security, others disappointed at the 'stupidity' of the organisers and others at the poor attention given to safety and caution.
