Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'  has been in the news of late for all the wrong reasons. However, the makers of the film have managed to wrap up the shoot well before the earlier announced release date. Wrapping up the shoot, Kangana Ranaut's team posted a picture of the film's crew and wrote,"nd it's a wrap! #Manikarnika the Queen of Jhansi releases on January 25, 2019"

They also posted a video of the crew and cast ad wrote, "Evoking the spirit & Valor of the legendary Queen of Jhansi, #KanganaRanaut & the #ManikarnikaSquad announce the completion of shoot & thus begins the countdown of unfolding her saga on the big screen on 25 Jan 2019."

Problems surfaced for the film, when Kangana Ranaut took over as the director of the film. After watching the first raw edit of the film, Ranaut and few others felt that the film requires some patchwork scenes and certain scenes needed to be re-shot. Since, the director Krish had moved on to another project and did not have dates for the film, Kangana Ranaut took over as the director of the film. Post this, reports of Sonu Sood walking out of the film surfaced. Kangana alleged that he walked out as he did not want to work with a female director. However, Sonu Sood denied it and said that he walked out because of Ranaut's incompetency. Later on, another actress also walked out of the film as she felt her role had lost substance, with Sonu Sood walking out of the film.

However, things seemed to have settled, as the release date remains unchanged and the teaser of the film, that released on October 2, garnered positive response from the audience.
